The Office of Higher Education is responsible for consumer protection for students and prospective students attending Connecticut's independent colleges and universities.  The Office works to assure that the highest standards of quality and compliance with state and federal regulations are met by degree-granting independent institutions of higher learning (both not-for-profit and for-profit), academic programs offered in Connecticut by out-of-state schools, postsecondary career schools, and programs enrolling veterans.
